How to open an Arqivexa .cfs file on Windows 11.
First confirm that the file is actually an Arqivexa archive. Then install the current supported release, verify that the required Windows features are available, and open the archive through Arqivexa's Explorer integration or opening workflow.

Before opening
Confirm which .cfs format you have.
The extension .cfs is not globally unique. Different software can reuse the same file extension for unrelated formats. Arqivexa's .cfs extension comes from the project's former CFS name and refers to Arqivexa's own compressed archive format.
Unknown source?
If you do not know which program created the file, do not assume every .cfs file is compatible with Arqivexa.
Do not rename formats
Changing a filename extension does not convert the underlying data. Renaming a ZIP or other archive to .cfs will not make it an Arqivexa archive.

Opening an Arqivexa archive
Install, open, browse.
1. Install Arqivexa
Use the current supported installer for Arqivexa 0.5.0 Stable. Setup checks the Windows Projected File System requirement and may require a restart.
2. Open the .cfs archive
Use Arqivexa's installed file association or opening workflow. A supported archive is exposed as a folder-like File Explorer workspace.
3. Work with files
Browse directories and open file contents on demand. Supported edits can be persisted back into the archive.

Windows 11 x64
The current Stable release targets 64-bit Windows 11.
Projected File System
Explorer workspace mounting uses the Windows Projected File System optional feature.
Local NTFS for writable use
The supported write path requires archives to be on local NTFS storage.

Troubleshooting
If a .cfs file does not open, check these first.
Wrong .cfs format
The file may belong to unrelated software that also uses the .cfs extension. Confirm its source before treating it as an Arqivexa archive.
Missing Windows feature
Arqivexa's Explorer workspace depends on Windows Projected File System. Complete setup and restart if Windows enables the feature during installation.
Unsupported storage or damaged file
For writable use, place the archive on local NTFS storage. If the archive was interrupted, corrupted, or created by an unsupported release, consult the current release information and keep the original file before attempting recovery.

Verify software and keep independent backups.
Download only the supported release, verify the published SHA-256 when appropriate, and keep backups of important archives. Arqivexa compresses data but does not currently provide archive encryption.
